Volunteers
What difference can a few hours make?...Find out by volunteering!
Beyond Balance is a volunteer-based not for profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives and experiences of individuals with disabilities through equine activities. Our goal is to bring therapeutic riding to as broad a base of the disabled community as possible. As a volunteer, you will enjoy becoming a part of the magical relationship between our special riders and horses. Every class is unique in some way, and you will experience firsthand the joy and challenges that our riders face. Registered program volunteers assist each rider by preparing horses for classes, enabling riders to become involved with tasks such as grooming and tacking, and by leading horses and side-walking in the ring. Normally between one and three assistants are needed to help each rider.
Volunteer Requirements
Beyond Balance, Inc. has the safety of its riders, volunteers and horses as the most important concern. Volunteers in our classes must be at least 14 years old and physically fit enough to walk for approximately one hour and jog occasionally. We expect our volunteers to attend regularly at a scheduled time.

Help In Other Ways
There may be other ways in which we can use your help and skills. Perhaps your experience in business, creative or artistic ability, carpentry skills or talents/experience in other areas can assist us with our growth and development. You may be able to offer us professional advice or assist in organizing special projects or events. We are always in need of people to coordinate/assist with fundraising events and help with administrative work.
